LinkedIn profile optimisation for freelancers workshop

Can potential clients quickly understand what you do, who you help and how to contact you from your LinkedIn profile?

In this practical workshop, you’ll improve your profile and write an “I’m available” post that sounds confident and gives the right people a reason to get in touch. We’ll use examples from real freelancers, including insights from an analysis of more than 30 availability posts.

We’ll cover:

• How to write a searchable headline and create a banner that makes your offer clear
• How to use the Featured section, recommendations, Service Pages and Open to Work
• What strong “I’m available” posts have in common, and which mistakes lead to poor results
• How images, context and specific details can help the right people notice your post
• Whether Sales Navigator is worth paying for as a freelancer

You’ll leave with improvements to your profile, a structure and template for your own availability post, and ideas you can put to use straight away.

This workshop is for freelancers who want to attract new projects, change or sharpen their offer, return after a break, or make their availability more visible. Come ready to work on your own existing LinkedIn profile and meet other freelancers.

Your trainer

Jenny Bjorklof is the founder of Freelancers in Belgium, a community of more than 18,000 freelancers. She helps independent professionals clarify their offer, become more visible and find better-fit clients through workshops, events and the Freelancers in Belgium PRO community.

Jenny combines practical LinkedIn advice with examples from real freelancers. You’ll have time to make changes to your own profile and post during the workshop.

Lunch at Amour

We’ll head to Amour for lunch together. Its weekday mainly vegetarian lunch buffet changes with the seasons, so you can choose what appeals to you while continuing the conversations from the morning. As one Google reviewer put it: “Each item on the buffet was a delicious taste bomb.”

The main course is included in your ticket. Drinks, coffee and any dessert are at your own cost and paid directly at the restaurant.

Coworking at Dokwerkers

The workshop takes place at Dokwerkers, a shared workspace at Dok Noord. Your ticket gives you a day to work there too: arrive early, stay after the workshop, or use both coworking sessions to put what you’ve learned into practice.

Dokwerkers is about a 20-minute walk from Gent-Dampoort station. You can bring your bike inside. Parking costs €7 for the day at your own expense. We’ll send detailed entrance instructions before the event.

Connecting with other freelancers is part of the day. Everyone will have a chance to introduce themselves, exchange feedback while working on their profiles, and talk further over lunch and during the optional coworking hours.
