Dealing with imposter syndrome, low confidence, and perfectionism – Freelancers in Belgium PRO Business Roundtable

Even experienced freelancers sometimes doubt their abilities, compare themselves to others, or hold themselves back with overly high standards. In this session, we explore how imposter feelings show up in freelance life, how to recognise when perfectionism becomes unhelpful, and what to do when self-doubt keeps you from being visible, confident, and consistent in how you show up professionally.

Expect an honest and supportive conversation with fellow freelancers, combined with practical reflections and ideas you can immediately apply. The focus is not on “fixing yourself”, but on understanding these patterns, normalising them, and learning how to move forward with more confidence and ease.

About the format
This is a Freelancers in Belgium PRO Business Roundtable: an interactive online session where freelancers openly share challenges, experiences, and practical approaches in a safe, peer-to-peer setting.

We meet online every month on a Friday to discuss real freelance challenges and exchange practical advice. Each session is hosted by Freelancers in Belgium founder and community leader Jenny Björklöf, who brings insights from her own freelance journey and from running a community of over 17,000 freelancers. Some sessions also include guest experts who add their perspective to the discussion.
